Back home in the UK but only for a couple of weeks and then of to Japan hence the contuionation of this blog. Felt nervous when Eddie left but when I awoke on thursday morning my nervousness had melted away, replaced by fidgity energy. Arrived at the arport way to early but gave me a chance to read. When I as going through security I was told that I had been selected for additional screening, they made it sound like I'd won a prize. I was good natured about it and the guys were friendly, had a conversation with me but obviosly part of the security check. Gave my arse a good pat down. They unpacked my bag which was packed with books, boots, and dirty washing. They offered to repack it after but I said I'd do it myself. A little irritated as it is a nightmare to pack. Had a couple of beers at the airport. Air New Zealand were decent, free booze and loads of movies and tv shows to select from on personal screen. Navigated Londons subway and found myself admiring Englands countryside as the train whizzed by. When I got in my Mum broke the bad news to me which I had been fearing. My lovely dog Pippa died on the 5th October. I had mentioned to Eddie at the pub at few days ago that I had a wierd feeling something bad had happened. She was fifteen, great age but doesn't make it any easier. Bawled my eyes on my stairs then made a huge fuss of my other dog, Pippa's brother Benny. Quite depressed, nice to be with family and will have a drink with good friend Brown tonight and hopefully see the rest of the lads in the next few days. Won't let it put a damper on Japan, important that I enjoy it. Rest in peace my little angel.
