Notes on previous locations:
Charlotte Airport: They had shoe cleaners at the Charlotte airport. I suppose it is a service like any ohter but was rather stranger. Black men cleaning rich white mens shoes. They sat there on their mobile phones. A little bit wrong.
Memphis - 1) When we got back to our motel in Mmephis on our first night me and Eddie were chatting when a sudden loud knock made us s*** ouselves. We didn'topen the door as it was 2-3 in the morning. Come morning weforgot about it but not long after we woke up the knocking came again, this time lounder and longer, notonly on the door but on the window. No idea who it was. 2) A park in Memphis is dedicated to a confederate general. Understandable them honouring their war heroes I suppose even if the confederate states were incredibly wrong. However the man the park is dedicated to was also a founding member of the KKK. Shocked me. Memphis claims to celebrate the civil rights movement but such a monument seems a huge affront to Martin Luther King Jr and everything he stood for. I obviosuly don't understand the Southern mindset but this completely bewildered me.
Fort Worth: Still in Dallas but Fort Worth is close by so caught a train to Fort Worth. Suppossed to be a wild west town. As per usual we spent along time wondering around and seeing nothing. Eventually made it to the historical district though and the first thing we saw was a cowboy on a horse. We missed the cattle drive because went to find a drink. Caught the rodeo though which was very strange. Bull riding, calf catching, horse racing and best of all a bucnh of five year olds chasing a sheep. One can tell they are very sophisticated down here in Texas. Missed our train back but got a hug from a crazy lady, made it worth while. Decided to visit some bars and got a taxi home. Taxi dirver may or may not have lived in his cab and may or may not have been a tranny. Decent guy nontheless. Austin tomorrow. Shame a big rock concert featuring the Foo Fighters and the great Robert Plant is end of September rather than now but should stillbe brilliant.
Mum and Dad: Yes I lost my camera. Very sorry. Not so bothered about expense but very anrgy at myself because it was a present and had 300+ photographs on it. Bought a new camrea today and can get old photographs from friends. Just want to say I really appreciate all you have done for me, feel like a bit off a s*** really because don't think I really express how much I love and appreciate you both. Know you've both worked your bums off since I was little and know it couldn't have been easy to bring up four children. That said,Dad don't be bitter because the Reds are better than s***ty Celtic. No not flying with s***ty Zoom, they deserve to go bust. Will call soon, probably.
Strutty: Glad you are having a great time in Vegas dude.
Please excuse my blogs being so random, disjointed, and rather long, somtimes just feel the need to write.
