Finally made it to Memphis. Flight was dleayed and then after boarding a tiny plane it had maintance problems but we got away in the end. Memphis is pretty gritty but Beale street is fantastic. When we arrived it was lined with 1950's classic American cars. Bars, resturants and music joints lined the street. We had pulled pork sandwiches which Memphis is famous for and then hit some bars and a music joint called BB Kings. The live band were fantastic and delivered what we expected from Memhis. I didn't get to drunk but did help a drunk. Some huge fat guy fell on his arse with his girl on top of him while dancing so me and another guy helped him to his feet. On the second day we did some of the sites. Sun Studio's, where greats like Elvis and Johnny Cash got their start, had a great tour of their little studio. They had original recordings from Elvis and the likes. We followed this with a visit to the Rock and Soul musuem which like most musuems was boring. We finished the day with a visit to Graceland which well worth the 30 buck admission price. Elvis's home is stupidly over the top(shag carpets on the ceiling). We headed for the Greyhound at 3 in the morning which was rather scary. The Greyhound to Dalla took 10 hours, the coach was filled with the real 'cream'of American society. Only spoke to one person, a girl from North Carolina who wasn't all there. Just arrived at hostel which is out of town and is pretty much just some blokes house, waiting for him to arrive. Apparently he is really friendly.
