Talking with the kids in form E about wages and conditions in Australia was really sad, seeing how little they start with, and the unrealistic or small dreams they have.
One boy who studied full time during the week, had a shepherding job on Saturdays for a farmer, he gets paid m7 a month. (1 dollar for roughly 4 days work).
Pair of school shoes or boots in town cost roughly m400+.
Immigration, family, cultural and financial limitations all hinder their progress.
Staying in such a relatively fancy hotel, and eating an array of food the kids would never get, shows the clear poor and rich divide.
Pulling out a packet of gum at recess and just seeing how eager everyone was, was just crazy.
