Sometimes, when your week was pretty active, you just want to relax after you came back from work (or internship for that matter) on Friday afternoon. Until you wake up:
- "We're leaving for Cape Town in 45 minutes"
- "(...) ok"
Time: ? you tend to loose your interest in time, sometime ;)
Speed: 160km/h
Direction: Cape Town.
Atmosphere: cosy
We ended up at a student house with some friends we met, somewhere in Cape Town, had some nice cheese, beers and chats before we eventually left for a dirty rock place. By then we were with ~10 people. A Fussball table was discovered and soon the game was on. A bunch of guys in their twenties caught up in world's fastest soccer game. Later...wild party! I ended up at Kris's place (another Dutchie from Amsterdam) after I managed to shake of two patrolling police cars. Quite an achievement considering my somewhat un-sober and licence-less status.
Braaitime, while enjoying the sun that started to come up!
The first weekend of October - on Sunday - the first step towards kite surfing was made. I met some guys that were taking lessons and had a chat with their instructor. First lesson soon!
Last weekend a trip to one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa! After a 100km drive over steep roads, trough beautiful sceneries while speeding we were pulled over...
Driver's license. Ehr? Luckily I had it somewhere in my bag, ok! And off we were, 300km left. Finally we arrived at a beach house in Glentana. 20 METER to the sea, nice balcony. Awesome!
Unfortunately I didn't bring my kites, maybe better since I'm still recovering from a very bad muscle spasm in my back.
In the Knysna National Elephant Park I discovered elephants are intelligent animals, I'd rather watch them from a distance though. Back at the house it became braaitime again.
In the Tsitsikamma Reserve (eastern cape) we were gliding between tree canopies. 20 meters above the ground surrounded by trees, plants, birds and...trees. The ongoing rain made our lines and therefore our slides even faster. The only sounds you would hear between the 400 year old trees would be some animals and the whoo-ing of people gliding.
On our way back: road works. A traffic light with a sign telling you that the average waiting time is 20mins because one section of the road is closed. After the guy in the shag at the end of the road works signals the guy in the shag at the beginning of the road works he can switch the light to green.
In the middle of the night I arrived at the estate...(other students stayed. I had to be in the office on Monday again) longing for some hours of sleep. Surprisingly, the cleaning lady had locked the door of our house instead of 'just' the fence in front of the door. In that slight second I became temporary homeless because I only carried the key of the fence.
There I was.
Alone.
Sleepy.
Bearded.
With a phone that was out of juice...
Luckily I managed to get my hands on a spare key and passed out..ready for another hard week of work.
