Had a great lie in this morning!!! Popped down to Starbucks for my morning coffee, then climbed onto a bus and headed down to the waterfront!!! Walked around the shops for a while, then headed down to Elliotts Seafood restuarant for lunch!!! Elliotts pride themselves on their Oysters!! As do many of the seafood restuarants in Seattle. I have never been offered so many different options of oysters anywhere else in the world!!! Very confused, so I asked the waitress to explain the difference to me ~ quite an education I must say!!! You get sweet ones, peppery ones, salty ones, I swear there were at least 30 different species of Oysters on the menu, all with different flavours ~ and that's natural flavours, not artificial!!! Well, never have I ever!!! Anyways, I ordered a half dozen and figured I couldn't go wrong with Oysters!!! Something different is they are served with a Frozen Champagne accompaniment which is: Champagne; Pepper; Lemon Juice & Tobasco ~ frozen and scooped into little balls, and you take a little and dab it onto each oyster ~ Hmmmmmm - Yummo!!! and my mouth is watering just writing about it now!!! So, they were so good, I ordered another half dozen!!! LOL!! Then I ordered grilled prawns for main course ~ grilled to perfection, and really good!! I had to finish it off with ice-cream & a capucinno, and $100.00 later I was well fed and ready for bed!!!
As I had had a very leisurely lunch 3 hours, it was too late to go on the underground tour today, so bookmarked it for the next day, and on my walk back to my hotel, I made a note of where the meeting point was for the tour. I then walked back uptown towards Pike Place Market ~ one of Seattle's famous land marks. There I found out about a 'Food & Drink Tasting Tour'. I booked myself a place on the next morning's tour at 10h00am, and headed back up towards my hotel.
There was a cinema just one block from my hotel, and I noticed they were showing the oscar best movie winner - No Country for Old Men, so I bought a ticket for the 7pm show, and popped up to my hotel room to freshen up. (I know it's weird to go to a movie on your own ~ well, for me anyway ~ not something I have done before, but it was actually ok!!! You should try it some time)
WHAT A TOTAL LOAD OF UTTER & COMPLETE RUBBISH... The movie that is!!! Don't waste your time or money!!! You have been warned!!!
So, the next morning I was moving to the Best Western Executive Inn hotel, a couple of blocks away, for my last night in Seattle, because this is where the coach was picking me up from the next morning for my ride up to Vancouver BC. So, I had to pack my suitcase and organise myself for an early morning departure. I had my Pike Place Market tour at 10h00 the next morning.
As luck would have it, I was SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE that night, and couldn't go to sleep!!! I think I must have eventually fallen asleep at about 2 or 3 in the morning. I think it must have been all the oysters, prawns, popcorn & M&M's that kept me awake!!! LOL
