Dear All, well this is a bit of a change from Pymble, I'm actually back in Pym now but I thought i'd put it from Nagambie. So Last Saturday I had a regatta, a really hot one, it was 35degrees all day and we had alot of running around after our crews but it was all good and our 7th quad came 2nd and 8th quad came 4th. Not too bad results. Then I flew out that night to the UK via Hong Kong where I had to wait in the airport for 5 hours and I lost my favourite jumper which I was really annoyed about, I flew Cathay Pacific which arnt very good at all. I arrived on sunday afternoon, prepared for an interview on monday and then went to the interview at St. Georges in London on tuesday. The interview went well and I really liked the school, its quite small and is based inside a wing of the hospital there. I have since heard from St. Georges and they offered me a place which is great. Then I flew back out through some tight security. I flew back to Melbourne instead of Sydney as I had made a last minuite change of plan and wanted to watch the seniors row at the National Championships. I got there and it was pretty hot, I had a bit of a wait at the airport before I could get a lift up to the lake so I checked into a Motel and had a shower and a sleep. Then we drove up to Lake Nagambie which is just over an hour outside Melbourne. Its really in the middle of know where. Its very very dry out there and its practically desert around it. You can see big dust clouds being blown off the land and as soon as you get out of the car you get a fine coating of dust all over you. I slept with the girls in an AFL club, basically we just slept in a club room in a cricket/rugby club, with 20 beds just pushed together in the middle. It was abit hectic but I was so tired I fell straight asleep on my mattress on the floor. I woke when the girls went for a morning row at 6 but I stayed in bed and waited for them to come back at 8. Then we went down the course. Down there, I just helped out, rerigging the eight and wandering around watching people row, it was great. They ended up with bronze medals in the U17 and U19 doubles. And silver medals in the U19 eight and 1st eight which was great. They were hoping for a gold in the eight but tried there hardest and were happy to settle for ssecond. mark was upset because of the wind they couldnt hear him playing the bagpipes for them as they rowed down. The place the other coaches were staying was in Avalon, its the home of ned Kelly and his fathers grave is there as well as there old homestead and the place where he saved a drowning kid. Mark loves that sort of stuff and took all the girls on a Ned Kelly tour! Each morning I woke to the sound of Sarah's alarm of a song Detroit which was interesting. The girls all decorated the bus with tape, they put Pymble, on the side along with Pimp it, Do you wanna party with Me ....Oh yeh and other stuff. They all had matching everything including pants which have a stencil of "You are now parting with the best ...Pymble"! The girls all flew back but I drove back with Mark in the mini bus. On the way back he stopped to watch a video of some stuff on Ned Kelly at this old guys house. Then we set off for the 11 hour drive. It went quite quickly and wasnt too bad. we got back just after midnight and I stayed at Gill and Marks house in Curl Curl that night. In the morning I had to drive Gill's huge 8 seater station wagon back to Pymble which was abit scary. It was the biggest car I've ever driven, the first automatic i've ever driven and the 1st time i've driven in Sydney but it was fine and we got back fine. Now I'm back here and I'm going to load some of my photos on for you all to see. Hope all is well with you. Ellie xx
