The One Ball Rally
We drove from Sun City to a Mountain Lodge called Crystal Springs, it was just a stop over until we got to our next camp. It seemed a nice lodge but we didn't arrive until 7 pm and had to check out at 10am the following day. Managed to do a nature walk and use the jacuzzi before we left though!!!! Drove on to our next camp called Umlani Bushcamp where we didn't know what to expect! We though it would be the most basic accomodation we had stayed in yet! Although it was basic with no electricity it was truly amazing! Our hut (one of 8) had 2 beds, a sink, toilet and outdoor shower! The food was fantastic and drinks were on an all inclusive basis. The first game drive we went on was incredible we first of all raced around looking for white rhinos as the tracker and ranger had noticed the tracks. We found 2 rhinos just 10m away. Next the chase was on to see some lions that had been spotted resting in the North part of the park. Ginger, our Ranger raced over the bumps and dirt roads to finally arrive 1m away from 2 female lions and 1 male lion! It was the closest we had ever been to a wild animal before (in an open top vehicle)! Even in Kenya, the sights were not as good as this!
