So I know we've been out of contact for about a month now but paradise was calling and Fiji is still a bit behind the times with internet so we would have had to have sold our lives to get it. But here's a quick summary...
FIJI IS/WAS B-E-A-UTIFUL. The people, the place, the food, the list goes on....and on. On arrival at the airport and after saying goodbye to Hannah (miss you girly!) we were told we were on the first Fiji Airlines flight so were given free cake, water, singing and general spoiling. We didn't think it could get better but on touchdown we were sung too and then each and every one of us greeted with a shell necklace and a beautiful sunset. Jealous? Over the course of the ten days we were there, our time just got better and better. We drank Kava (traditional Fijian social drink), many a Shady Lady and many free Fiji Golds...turns out Daisy and I are very good at bar games. Burly men have nothing on us ;)
We also went snorkeling in the reef just off our beach...and by just off our beach I mean walk out five metres and dunk your head under and hey there pretty blue starfish! In fact, we've had a lot of interesting times snorkeling...two shark encounters whilst we were in the water, a stingray and Daisy swam straight into a jellyfish!
We're now in Oz, in the blistering sunshine - 36 degrees hellooooo! We stayed in Cairns for a week before heading on to Mission Beach (beautiful!) and Magnetic Island (just as nice!) before arriving in Airlie Beach this morning getting ready for our Whitsundays trip on Thursday. 2 days living on a boat - we're very excited!! Lots of snorkeling, diving and goon drinking to be had.
Until next time, love and hugs from Down Under,
Daisy and Helena XXX
