Got stopped by police twice in serbia on way to Sofia. They were checking drivers licences but seemed to be picking on us especially. Eventually got to Sofia where we stayed in our first hotel. Great views from the rooms of the city and the european arm wrestling championships were taking place in the hotel. So loads of big eastern European guys with large biceps all around the place. We decided to walk into the centre as a group, but after about 10 minute walk we got caught in a thunderstorm and couldn't go any furthe.

When we got back and cleaned ourselves we went to an italian restaurant for dinner anf followed that with a few drinks in the hotel. I don't think that had a hotel bar just a restaurant, but it served it's purpose.

Unfortunately didn't get to see much of Sofia, but what we saw seemed nice.
