So day three was the trip from Washington to New York - we decided the easiest and chepest way was to get the greyhound bus. We looked up the location of the bus station and decided it was within walkin distance....bad idea!! The station was approx 30 mins away up hills an all sorts - we were all goosed wen we got there, an the sit down on the coach was needed!!
The trip to New York was about 4 hours, which went pretty quick. The image of New York most ppl hav is very different to what we saw...the outskirts are miles and miles of smokey dirty industrial estates - it only in and around times square where the bright lights are seen!!
From the coach we took the metro to 103 st, where we were supposed to head west...of course we headed east, and ended up trekking through central park...ended up at the hostel goosed again!!
Hostel wasnt the best...pretty run down, but loadsa ppl about an fairly gud location for the price, so all was gud!! That nite we ended up jus grabbin tea an chillin!!
Day Four was the site-seein day....we headed out early, caught the metro to times square and walked the blocks round and about. We'd also booked to head up the empire state building, which took up most of the afternoon.
That eve we ate at the hard rock cafe in times square...a backpackers life is hard eh!!
Well once again the time is runnin out, so ill post again prob tommorrow!!
