This is the blog of our summer cruise. That is me (colin) and margaret on walkabout and martin and sue on moonlighter.
At present the plan is Ireland but like all plans it may not survive contact with the enemy. We will see what happens at dinner tonight at Marthas vineyard.
We are in Milford Marina at the moment. The photo is walkabout moored there. Walkabout is on the right. She is the very attractive sleek beneteau not the very ugly southerly next door but the photo shows the relative stylistic merits quite well
As you can tell I am now a bit bored sitting waiting to get off. I came here last night to sort the boat out and do the provisioning thinking we might get off today. Still waiting for the rest to get out of bed so it now seems unlikely. It is as well I did come last night as there was a fair bit to be done. Ian slightly concerned at the state of charge of the main domestic batteries which have been charging all night and are still not fully charged. There are always a fee little anxieties.
The weather is a bit marginal for an off shore passage. It could be fine but I suspect we may miss the window of opportunity tomorrow. Never mind I don't really care where we go so long as it is not work.

Armchair sailor Yes I will take the bait about the Southerly - a class boat for discerning sailors rather one designed for the proleteriat! Its going to be fine tomorrow so I would set off tonight and do an overnight passage to Ireland if the wind is right.
