We got to present our research this morning to the faculty and staff that tenure for nearby universities. What a great opportunity. They provided me with excellent feedback and a lot of business cards were given from faculty at Duke. They seem very interested in having me attend their graduate school.
I met a few girls over the duration of the trip. We've been going out to eat at places in Raleigh and going site seeing together. We found this thrift store called "Father and Son" that was a 3 story building in downtown. Wow, this place was so cool. They had vintage EVERYTHING. Everything from 50's style clothing, furniture, paintings, propaganda, typewriters, to floppy disks and poodle skirts. It was an awesome experience!
Also in downtown, they ring these huge, beautiful church bells. It was such a great feeling walking around the Capitol building and hearing their bells chime while the brilliantly colored fall leaves floated all around town. I felt so at home here.
