Hi everyone! And a special hi to Mum, Dad and my wonderful Nanna. Well, I have been awake now for 48+ hours so I will be brief. We arrived in Nepal about 1:00pm local time, and it is now about 4. So far all we have done is found a hotel and taken a brief walk around the main tourist area here in Thamel. What can I say about Nepal?

It is quite possible the most beautiful country I have ever seen in terms of natural wonder. We saw the Annapurna range (above) as the plane began to decend, and the time we spent stradling the clouds, with the mountain peaks visible above and he lush valleys below, literally brought tears to my eyes. The mountains were so high they stood far above the clouds like they were painted into the sky, it was completely surreal.

The capial, Kathmandu, is a more complex. It is the most alien, exciting, terrifying, intricate and chaotic place I have experienced, and there are some really beautiful and some really terrible things to be seen.

I'll elaborate more the next time I am able to write, for now I mainly wanted to check in and say to everyone who has wished me well, Thank you sincerely, and to my family, friends, coworkers etc, I am safe and happy and having a wild time... wild in every sense. I miss you already :)
