My god I like to travel? do you know in the past 3 days I've stayed in Paris, and whilst there I visited New York, Egypt, Venice, Rome, and Greece not to mention 3 or 4 other dubious places all under the name of Las Vegas and it was most certainly Viva Las Vegas.
So greetings from the Good Old USA and specifically the biggest little city in the world and the home to my friend Mr Lanceman. So, I flew here from Quito last Saturday thankly aided by the God Squad (who were also flying from Quito) to catch my numerous connections in record time. And when I arrived in Reno there was Lance at the airport to greet me and it was great to catch up with him again, despite the fact that on my first night here he let me freeze, on the next day he let me burn and then by day 4 he finally told me that he had a hairdryer after I'd been sitting around with sopping wet hair hoping it would dry nicely in this heat (men!! do they not understand women's priorities especially when we've been deprived such luxuries for a few months?)
Anyway, we spent the 1st couple of days shopping (well I did), looking around Reno and watching music in the park, walking hte lovely Bella in the dog park and generally catching up then it was off to Vegas for a few days.
Vegas is just so surreal, stuck in the middle of the hot hot Nevada desert (107 degrees hot) it really is in a little extravagant world of its own. But we had great fun in and out of the themed hotels (based on real places), drinking in great bars, playing a few tables (and winning a few extra dollars) and even visiting the Star Trek experience (but that was a Lance request? it seemed I had a secret trekkie on my hands - hopefully he'll recover one day.)
Oh and whilst there we also spent a day out at the Grand Canyon, which was grand but still hot, and walked the glass skywalk which was quick and odd to do and still hot. And on the way we also had a peek at the mighty Hoover Dam (hot and lots of water).
We got back to Reno earlier today and I've got a few more days here so it's off to Lake Tahoe where I think I'm going to jump out of a plane at last (gulp!!).
Right I'm going to sign off now as it's a bit rude sitting in your hosts home ignoring him as you steal his laptop.
