14th Feb Sydney:
Meeting Meg at the hostel on Valentines evening….aaaw J Flight was pretty short and got into the city from the airport easy enough and then to the hostel and see Meggy!!! :D I am so happy now! No more travelling alone or 3 day friendships… Australia get ready! Valentines evening we went for a walk down to Darling Habour and went out for dinner and had pizza, there were couples everywhere with bouquets of flowers, oh dear. Then they had special Valentine fireworks over the habour,me and meg cuddled J Hostel leaves a little to be desired, very dirty with cockroaches everywhere even a dead one under my bed! URGH! But I guess that what you get for living on a budget.

Very productive day indeed! Bought breakfast in the city, I have a thing about cream cheese at the moment. First we went to find the Chinese Embassy and applied for our visa's, had to have our passport photo taken, hot stuff ;) Then we did an exciting grocery shop like good budgeters do, had lunch in the park flicking through our bibles aka Lonely Planets to work out how, what, where, when to do things and then…. WE HIRED A CAMPERVAN! Oh hell yeah we did! It's called a Spaceship and is bright orange and is called Neil after Neil Armstrong -get it spaceship, 1st man on the moon, clever hey? It is much cheaper than getting the greyhound an d hostels all around and you get freedom to go where you want when you want and how long for, best way to see the country I think. We took an evening stroll to Sydney Opera house and random fireworks were going off, how lovely.
16th Feb:
Spent the day at Manly beach today, caught the ferry over from Circular Wharf and got some great views of the opera house. Meg got a little bit burnt on her ankle, its gone all chubby J Didn't see any sharks when we went in the sea, yay! Saw lots of pretty surfer dudes…yum. Relaxed all day long, t'was lovely.

We had a free day today and explored all of the free things Sydney has to offer. Started off atThe Rocks museum which is all about the convicts that came over and how the aboriginies coped with the huge change, was interesting. Did you know that naughty convicts used to fill up their socks with wet sand and throw it at their victims to knock them out and then they wouldn't be caught with a weapon only a sock, clever stuff.Next we took a stroll into the botanical gardens and I might have fallen asleep for a few hours, woops. Meg woke me up by putting food under my nose, haha piggy. There were hundreds of bats flying around, they're horrible! Got the free 555 bus down to central station, was a bit pointless didn't do anything but at least I got a ginger beer out of it that I couldn't open. Went back to the hostel and changed rooms due a very opinated hugarian man who views on women weren't exactly modern grrr! And then we headed back to Darling Habour in the evening and sat on the steps and people watched for hours and hours and hours J

Picked up our Chinese visa's this morning, sigh of relief that was much easier than we thought. We then fancied a bit of retail therapy and seeing as my shorts had broken and I had comments from random strangers telling me I was flying low I thought it was about time I bought some new ones. We were met by a rather unhelpful lady in STA trying to sort out Ayres Rock trip so we filled our dissatisfied tummies with a Mccdy's!! Naughty! Spent the afternoon running a few more errands posting cards and sorting phones ect. We then meandered back to the hostel and met our new roomie, Roderigo from Brazil who likes "jackiiieee johnsonie and bebe merely" aka Jack Johnson and Bob Marely! Haha
19th Feb:
Last day in Sydney. We went to Paddingtom Market in the morning and it was huge. There were loads of arty farty crafts stalls there, so much stuff I would love to take home. I got my tarot read, haha that was hmm…interesting. Apparently I have already met the one for me but only fundamentally and in a years time all will be revealed. PAH! That wasn't really worth the money. So after that enticing spiritual guidance (ahem!) we walked down to China town, we just missed the Chinese new year there that would have been good. We headed back to the hostel away from the heat with the intention of getting out books and sitting in the park, but of course Bring It On was on the telly so we just had to stay in and watch that. We spent our last evening in Darling Habour again with even more fireworks, they do put on a good show. People watched all night long again and watched the world go by J I like that.
