Got picked up at 7.15am by a much more decent minibus which took us to Sunat Thanni, taking just over 4 hours. Had to wait there for an hour in the blistering heat, then we were picked up and taken to the ferry port. Ferry left at 3pm and took an hour and a half, no problems with the crossing. Arrived and haggled with taxi drivers over prices to get to Chaweng. Eventually got in an extended tuk-tuk with about 10 others all squidged in! Took about 45mins to get to Chaweng, then traipsed around looking for a cheap but decent hostel although we couldnt find one less than 500 Baht, which is more than we wanted to be paying really but it was getting dark and our bags were wrecking our shoulders, so we settled for one nearish the beach. Had a shower then headed out for some nosh. Prices for food were also similar to Phuket which we were surprised at - nothing like Bangkok prices, and we thought Thailand was gonna be cheap! - Sadly mistaken! Then we went out to look for a simple bar to relax and have a beer or two - only to find hardly anything! About 4 bars on the same strip that were completely empty apart from seedy Thai girls pole-dancing - obviously not our cup of tea! But we are here on Koh Samui at the low season, so i guess in the high season its thriving and has much more of an atmosphere.

Got up and spent the whole day on the beach although it was quite cloudy. And i managed to burn all the backs of my legs so am now lobsterfied! It hurts to walk and sit down as the backs of my knees are so sore and crinkle when i walk. :( Also the tops of my legs just below my bikini has also blistered, so is great fun picking off the peel! hehe. Had tea and then went for a drink in an Irish Bar which had a live band on and it was FANTASTIC!! Almost every Rock song you could think of, they played!! So it was great, although we found out that Chang Beer (what we were drinking,) had the highest alcohol content - 6.4%!! So decided to take it easy!
