Meeting Mrs. Chief
This morning after breakfast we went into the village with a local guide. We had to cover our shoulders and wear their sarongs, and also take off our shoes as we entered any of their houses as a sign of respect. The locals live in huts similar to the ones we're staying in, and they have a chief, whose house we visited, although we met his wife rather than him! By the time we had been to one end of the village the women had laid out their wares for sale. We felt obliged to buy something, but it was all really beautifully handmade and we knew the money would go straight to the village.
In the afternoon we went to the Blue Lagoon, where we snorkeled , and saw tropical fish and blue starfish. We also found some local children to entertain us, and they seemed to fall in love with one of the guys who was with us!
