Ah the AFL was so good! We watched Essendon vs Gold Coast, so it was pretty one sided as Gold Coast is a new team this season. But it was amazing, the game is pretty cool itself, I think I maybe just got the hang of the rules! But there's 18 people on each team so the pitch is pretty crowded, and you can throw the ball wherever you want, well you have to kind of punch it, or kick it. There are 4 posts and if you kick it between the middle 2 you get 6 points and between the side ones you get 1 point and if it hits a post you get 1 point. There are 5 refs as well and when the ball goes off a ref just stands backwards and throws it up into the air for anyone to hit. The match is started by a ref bouncing it hard on the ground. The final score was 197-58 to Essenden aka the Bombers. There were 33,000 people there and probably about 100 of them were Gold Coast supporters, so very outnumbered. AFL is very big in Melbourne as it's where it originated. But it's a very quick and scrambly game, but I would definately love to go and see another one it was an awesome experience!!
7.20am start tomorrow, so not going to have a late one tonight!
