DAY 88: 10th October: Arequipa, Peru
After a good nights sleep in a bed - we all woke up and packed up and headed to the airport as we were getting a flight to Arequipa. Arequipa is the capital city of the Arequipa Region in southern Peru. With a population of 904,931 it is the second most populous city of the country. Arequipa lies in the Andes mountains, at an altitude of 2,335ms above sea level; the former snow-capped volcano El Misti overlooks the city.
There was a slight problem as we got on the plane after sitting there for 45 minutes we had to get off the plane due to a technical fault. We then sat in the airport for another hour and just before 5 we managed to get on the plane and take off. We landed in Arequipa during sunset it was amazing the sky was bright red. That evening we went to a sort of mini Bluewater/ Lakeside place for dinner and the cinema - but it turned out that the film we saw was in French with Spanish subtitles so I had know idea what was going on.
