22/3/2007 - Arrive in Singapore bout lunchtime today. Crossing the border was pretty painless. Singapore is nothing like wat i expected it to be be. I thot it would be a real cosmopolitian city, more busy and bustleing than KL but from wat iv seen so far its more like a suburban city that anything else. Thers shopping malls but you wudnt even no they wer shopping malls, ther jus big blank buildings. Strange. Anyway, just took a dander thru the market and into chinatown, i think! Met the group at 730 to head the Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling. Raffles is a pretty famous place so im told but iv never herd of it. It is wer the famous (?) Singapore sling was created so it was nice to head down ther for 1 even if it did cost $24 singapore dollars! thats like 8quid! but it was worth it. The bar is also one of the few places you are actually allowed to litter in singapore so it is customery to throw ur monkey nut shells on the floor! In singapore ther are 3 rules, no littering, no chewing gum and no jay walking. Break these rules and you are supposed to get fined, i havnt yet so fingers crosst! we headed to chimes for dinner, pretty expensive place, 3quid for abottle of water i near choked ha! and to top that off i didnt like my dinner so hardly ate any of it but the place was lovley anyway. some of us went to St James Power house after this, a club with like 10 different rooms. A live band room, salsa, jazz, trance and watever else. was pretty cool place and was only $10 to get in so was a bargain! drinks prices are similar to back home just.
Have more photos to upload but nower to do so as yet so hopefully soon! x
