For few months ago I saw an ad on Curtin Universites website about media experience in Bangalore, India. It was like a volunteer job on a music magazine in India. I thought that was a chance not to miss. So I applied for it and it was successful. They rang me back and ask me questions about myself and what I had done previously in my life in terms of travelling, especially to less developed countries and what sort of work I had done before. A few weeks later I got my welcome pack. So now I have basically done the first step only which is getting all information, doing research about the place I am going to.
Because I am going to be there 2 months, I need to have travel insurance since my studnet insurance doesnt cover me overseas more than 14 days, I also need to hav certain vaccinations such as Yellow Fever as this is a requirement for entrying the country. More than this I need to book my fligh ticket and apply for a Visa because everyone needs visa to entry India.
As a volunteer, I work Monday to Friday between 10 and 6 which seems pretty resonable hours. On the weekends I get some freetime that I would like to take the chance to travel to some parts of India, that is not too far away from Bangalore.
I am very excited about this ... even though it is so far away but I hope the time will pass on fast...
