My first blog entry and I'm almost too tired to keep my eyes open! Have arrived in Pokhara safe and well, and really enjoying settling in here. Suffered with a massive does of culture shock on Monday when in Kathmandu - never expected it to hit me so hard, but Pokhara is vey different, much calmer and more laidback. I haven't experienced any monsoon rains yet, in fact the sun has been out for most of today which has made it even more hot than yesterday, when thick cloud filled the sky.
Tomorrow is my first teaching day at the Shree Krishna school in the centre of town. My accomodation is in the Lakeside area (which is nothing like the giant shopping centre in Thurrock, Essex!) so I can either get a bus for 10p, a taxi for a pound (no pound signs on this keyboard!!) or just walk and get very sweaty! I visited the school today and was made to feel very welcome by the children, so I'm not feeling too nervous about teaching there.
Anyway, this keyboard is doing my head in. Having to press each letter very hard and still they don't always work, so excuse any spelling mistakes. I'll try and find somewhere different tomorrow and mayb even upload a photo or two..! Back off to base for a little nap now I think... zzzzzz
