OK, proper update as the last entry was a bit last minute.
The first day of the conference, which was a pretty much 'getting to know you affair' included a meeting with Banby jo the koala (who was not distinctly interested in anyone and was more hungry and possibily quite pissed off that we were all being served food and he only got eucalyptus) and Monty the Python (altogether now, groooooooaaaan) who was much more friendly and liked posing for photos! As per usual, MPSIV isn't getting a lot of airtime at this conference, so most of the stuff is a bit irrelevant (as for the researchers listing all the 'general symptons' of the MPS disorders and forgetting to mention Morquio...shame on you). Our talk went down a storm and was attended by the Australian MPS Society President and his family, who are now our best friends and led us astray yesterday (basically oking our skiving). I've also made friends with the Biomarin and Genzyme people (who are being very unhealthy and supplying ICE CREAM next to their stand).
We went to see Adam Hills host a comedy quiz at a hotel last night, which was absolutely fantastic. Those on facebook keep an eye out for photos! He succeeded once again in giving Phil breathing problems, which is always the sign of a good comedian! Oh and I tried kangaroo, which is quite yummy. (I have not seen any live ones yet, so I may change my mind).
Tonight is the gala dinner. We are currently planning on abusing the free internet (it'd be rude not to use it, ok?!) until the family gathering at 1pm, and then sloping off back to the hotel to eat our chocolate (they provided 10% off Haig's in our bags, again it would have been highly rude not to use them!).
Flight to Launceston at 11:40am tomorrow. I'm not sure what the internet situ will be in Tassie, but will get on when I can.
