Updates from South East Asia!
Wow, relevant photo, are you proud? This is the beach that is in "The Beach" if you follow. It's the film with Leonardo DiCaprio in that was filmed a few years ago here. It's on Koh Phi Phi Ley which is just south of Koh Phi Phi Don, where we're staying. It is actually as beautiful as the photograph if not more so. The water really is that colour. Completely, completely gorgeous. We got a longtail boat from one of the island locals to the island and after this beach we went snorkelling in a nearby cove which was amazing. Hundreds of fish in a multitude of lurid colours. They go mad when you feed them, all rushing past you and bashing into you to get to the food. Bit like Dave at mealtimes. T'was absolute heaven. Well, apart from nearly drowning whilst trying to master the breathing-under-water part and swallowing about a gallon of sea water in the process. Oh and getting recurring cramp in my foot...perfect timing eh? Dave swears he was bitten by the fish. Just Dave and Pete came today, Oli's ribs are still giving him trouble, Ed (new recruit) was too hungover / couldn't be arsed and Jay left for Singapore today. We went to a lagoon / covey type thing on the way back which was easily the most beautiful place in the world, so, naturally the battery on my camera died and the waterproof disposable one ran outta pictures just before we got there. Never mind Oli's going with Ed tomorrow so he can get some photos then.
Hmm..any other news for you...?Oli got in the boxing ring with a random and fought 3 rounds for a free bucket...and cracked his ribs. He got his free bucket though so he saved himself 2 whole pounds. So, worth it then. He woke up at about 7am (he went to bed about 4-5am) still pissed out of his head and restless so he decided he should go and get "Everton" tattooed on his left forearm in Thai script. As you do. Looks good actually, luckily.
I'm well and happy, other than being bitten to death by mozzies. I was only congratulating myself smugly yesterday on not having been bitten for at least 3 days (pride comes before a fall, children) and I woke up this morning with what I thought was a rash all up my legs but on closer inspection, I realised I'd just been feasted upon by either an army of mozzies or just one very very greedy one. Tiger balm is heaven in a tin though, soothes them nicely.
Hope you're all enjoying work/college/life etc. Loadsa love Jessxxx
