We had a great chat about just about everything to do with the poaching of Rhino in South Africa. Extremely informative and eye opening! The corruption involved on all levels, the false groups out for profiteering from the plight of the Rhino and the way they are taking advantage of people's good will, the way in which these Rhino are being poached and by whom, it's all a very real and worrying eye opener!
This discussion took all day, over morning coffee, over a huge brunch washed down by an ice cold castle lager, over shopping for last minute supplies, over a braai for dinner - T-bone steak & boerwors with sadza (a traditional Zimbabwean stable dish, consisting of maize meal boiled in water until it is the consistency of bread dough) and relish (a tomato based sauce to wetten the sadza), which was delicious! And eventually calling it a night & hitting the sack around 21.00.
Early night as early start to the Limpopo region to carry out patrols with a good APU (Anti-Poaching Unit). I'll be based there for a week.
