Today we are off to see the Kagoorlie Gold Mine Superpit. We first of all did the tourist bit which was very interesting then Andrew had arranged for us to go on site with the company he works for to see the proper working side. So far so good, we saw some huge machines and Nick told me how it all worked which was quite interesting. But then the men just did not know when to stop looking, one of each machine just was not enough and they had to see as many as they could. At this point the boredom set in and I just sat in the car whilst they looked at the different models of each machine (why?) Nick says the PC8000 series 1 is very different to the PC8000 series 6 - yeah whatever!! It was like looking at every series of Ford Escort every released (you seen one you seen them all!) In the evening we went for a barbecue with friends of Anne and Andrews which was great fun (the Aussies have the same sense of humour as us). We even sang Happy Birthday in welsh to one of the girls (a very bad rendition as well - one of the guests commented that we didn't sing much like Tom Jones).
