Today we went on the Sacred Valley Tour. It cost $40 each and we had to buy a separate tourist ticket for 130 soles to go into the attractions. I had a quick look on the internet before leaving and some of the attractions on the tours were churches so we decided we wouldn't buy the tourist ticket and just pay for each thing we wanted to see. And am I glad we didn't - note to self: really should read up on tours before booking. The Sacred Valley Tour is actually a shopping trip with one stop at a Inca Temple. The american couple with us were not impressed they had forked out for the tourist ticket! No matter we have purchased 6 woolly hats and 1 bag all for the princely sum of 70 soles = 17 pounds. Quite where we are going to wear these hats I don't know as it is in the 80s here. Included in our trip was a buffet lunch where Nick tried a Peruvian favourite of Roast Guinea Pig which he says tasted just like pork. The above photo is not of the guinea pigs he ate thankfully they were already dead and cooked by the time he got them.
