Today we went to Paraguay on the bus, we are both at a loss as to why we did this! The only thing we could think of in Paraguay were old ladies in bowler hats making crafty things out of colourful wool with tassles. Once again we decided it would be nice to get a momento but were concerned what this wouldn't be possible as Nick's spanish is not good enough to persuade some old lady in a bowler hat to accompany us home! Well anyway when we got there we find Ciudad Del Este is just a huge version of Clydach Market with hawkers! Nick was chased down the street on several occassions by people trying to sell him many things including viagra, woolly socks (cos the temparature today has now dipped to an even colder 25 degrees celsius?) and quite a number trying to sell him electric grooming kits. I reckon word must have spread when they spotted him getting off the bus that he was in urgent need of a grooming kit as the heat seems to have made his body hair grow at an alarming rate, he can now plait the hair on his chest, ears and nostrils!
If anyone can please enlighten us on the purpose of Paraguay please put answers on a postcard to our new permanent address in Iguassu as we are still stranded here without bank cards!
Obrigada

chris Do you not know Paraguay was set up for all the south american soccer players not good enough to play for Brazil or Argentina or was that Uruguay
Vanessa & Nick Really? Will have to go to Uruguay as well to find out?? NOT!
Gill Isn't Paraguay where all the Nazi war criminals escaped to after WWII? Anyone speaking German?
Sue Anything to do with gay paraschutists? I guess not!
sara its the contraband. don't be fooled when Nick buys you that Rolex. PS me and Keira have tested your cards out and they seem to be working fine. We've booked 4 flights and an apartment with no trouble from Lloyds at all..
