Well it's been an absolutely amazing day I'm sorry but I have to say we are both feeling at one with nature (I'm not joking). This morning we went out on the canoe through the Mangrove Swamps with our two guides Manuel and Joshua. They are very different to young men back home who won't leave home without their designer phone. Here they don't leave home without their machete! You may need it for banging wasps nest or tarantula lairs when you get bored (I kid you not!). The swamps were amazing but very dangerous however the risk of death does not come from wild animals but from huge falling fruit from the trees. It was like Dodgeball but from above. For lunch Nick had the pirana he caught yesterday, followed by a swim in the river. We then went to a amazon village which turned into a game of Bushtucker Trials with our guide feeding us all manner of weird stuff he found! Spent the evening lying on the deck watching lighting bolts light up the forest.
Animals seen today:
Lots of squirrel monkeys
Lots of parrots
1 sloth
2 woodpeckers
1 iguana
1 dolphin
3 kingfishers
1 snake (in the bedroom!)
1 dead piraña (now eaten!)
