Today we went to Itaipu Dam (one of the wonders of the modern world - in some publications). Again we went on the bus but this time standing up whilst travelling at 100 mph (even more fun!) Well all the tourist brochures show the Dam with huge amounts of water gushing down the spill gate. What you get when you get there is no water and something that resembles the Old Tesco Carpark - just bigger. Now I know dams don't work to order for the tourists but if you've paid your money you should get what it says on the tin. Nick thinks my expectations were unrealistic but as I told him if you paid to go into Disney only to be told none of the rides were running today you wouldn't be happy and it's just the same! We saw one huge carpark like structure, a lake just like Sandy Water Park without the swans and an electricity sub station! I will not be visiting anymore dams!
Of course Nick thought the whole thing was an amazing feat of engineering!
