Rainy season, we've discovered, does what it says it does! Not that it bothers us, the odd tropical shower, as we watch puddles forming in the sand from the cover of our porch.
When it's not raining, we head out to explore the little village or go sit in the sea to cool off. Anu loves the water which probably reminds her of the bath, as it's so warm. We met a Mexican girl and her son who let Anu play with his inflatable boat, the type with holes for baby's legs and she was in her element sailing along!
We got our luggage, the backpacks arrived one day, and the baby tent/travel cot the next. Picking them up meant crazy bumpy golf cart/taxi rides out to the 'airport', which is a field with a hut! I saw a lizard as long as my arm. Huge thing! The golf cart had to swerve to avoid him as he chewed something that had recently been alive! He had no intention of moving!
We are having a great time, doing nothing much. The only down side is the Mosquitos that made a feast of us yesterday. But now, armed with super-powered insect repellant, we are ready for anything.
We've been trying our best to catch a hummingbird on camera, but those boys are fast. They come to the flowers on the bush outside the cabana and by the time we grabs our cameras, they have gone! Too quick for us!
It's now become our mission- watch this space!
