Our train pulled up to Nha Trang station at approximately 5.35 this morning. Van managed to get about 5 hours sleep on the 6.5hr trip, with Matty only getting three due to his Jo Nesbo book being exciting as well as thinking about adventures to come such as paragliding!
On arrival at the station we grabbed a cab to our hotel so we could leave our bags there until check in. We then hopped across to the beach, getting there at around 6.30am! We sat on the beach for a bit and then went and got some Eggs Benedict for breakfast at 'The Sailing Club'. We then paid $2 ea for a sun lounger and chilled out, with intermittent swims to cool down. The weather packed in with some rain at 1pm so we went and had a light lunch at the cafe at the bottom of our hotel. Once checked in it was time for a siesta. Matt almost finished his book so one of our next challenges will be trying to find a place that sells books in English. To segue slightly, there is a lot of Russian tourism in Nha Trang. While we haven't actually bumped into many Russians, much of the signage around here is in both English and Russian. Anyways, after our siesta we went and had dinner at an Italian restaurant (as Van's stomach wasn't quite up to eating Asian food again yet post-sickness). We had some delicious carbonara and pizza and Matty knocked back two big Tiger beers. We then walked along the beach back to our hotel for an early night to catch up on some missed zzzz's and hopefully help Van's headcold/flu get better.
