We managed to check out of our San Fran lodgings at a reasonable time and mosied our way up the road to Napa Valley. First on our wine tasting list was Jamieson Ranch which was a pretty huge establishment. We then swung through the Napa township to pick up some cheese and bread for lunch before making our way to Reynolds Family and Stags Leap Valley Cellars (reminded us of Craggy Range and was the first red wine to be rated better than the French from a blind taste testing in 1976) which were also really pretty vineyards with some tasty Cabernet Sauvignons to boot. We noticed that if the grapes were grown in Napa Valley the bottle of wine seems to be USD$15 more. Very similar to champagne. That and all the taste testing costing a minimum of USD$25 made the afternoon add up pretty quick. Really nice area to pass through though and great chance to pick up a couple of bottles of wine for the rest of the road trip. Next stop Lake Tahoe!
