Sad to leave our oh so nice hostel in chiang Mai ( not !! ). We headed for the airport bright and early in the am. We lucked out as we're able to flag down a tuk tuk as there wasn't many out at 630 am. It was a very breezy and squishy ride though definitely woke us up!
Our flight went well, was on time and it was just a little over 2 hours to our next destination -- kuala lumpur Malaysia.
As we stepped off the plane we were once again smacked in the face with a wall of hot humid heat. It was a bit cooler in chiang Mai, very comfortable weather there!
Kuala lumpur is a muslim country so it has a different feel than all the other countries we've been to thus far. Many women are wearing full head dress hijab or the burka. Ty has seen this before in his travels but for Michelle this was much different. We also realized quite quickly the high male dominance here.
There overall is not too much to do here other than china town an their tower which is one of the worlds tallest so we explored the rail system and did our usual lots of walking around the city. It's very green here which is beautiful but we both just overall didn't like the feel of the city.
We checked out china town which should be called little India because i dont think there was 1 Chinese person there. However lots of stall of your knock off shirts, shoes, bags and other random things in which of course they all swear they're giving only the best deal to you. Haha.
It was also chinese new year the two days we were there so we saw a few celebrations for that including super loud fire works that are not nice to watch they just light a long string and it bangs with loud noise. No colors or anything pretty about that haha.
The petronas towers were pretty to look at at night all lit up we made sure to take lots of pics of them. We are planning to go up them when we head back to kuala lumpur later this month.
We have planned out our last week and a bit of our trip. Here it is ...
Jan 24 th we take a bus to Melaka where we will stay for 2 nights from there we are taking a bus back to kuala lumpur to fly to Banda Aceh Indonesia where we will stay for 1 night then take a ferry to Pulau Weh a little island where we are going to relax for 4 nights before we fly back to kuala lumpur and from kuala lumpur fly to our inal destination -- Brisbane Australia! From there we will make our way to Gold Coast to search for a place to stay -- our new home away from home !!
Off to Melaka talk to you all later :)
