Breakfast at 9.30am, rested then finished packing before checking out at 12 noon. Left our bags in storage at the hotel and caught the metro out to the Trastevere District of Rome.

Crossed the bridge and wandered through the narrow streets. Wandered further up to Piazza Navone. Not a lot there and the piazza was packed with people trying to sell you things and asking you to put your finger in a loop of string. They were much more aggressive than any we had come across on our trip.

Continued on our walk to the Spanish Steps. Took some pictures and then sat on the steps for a while before heading back towards the hotel. Stopping along the way to check our emails one last time and send our final message home before we returned to Australia.

We went to the Chinese restaurant we at at the night before to meet the couple we had met there at 5pm. Restaurant was closed so we ate at another Chinese restaurant nearby. After dinner we went to Termini Station to kill some time. Returned to the hotel to get our bags out of storage and wait for the airport shuttle bus to pick us up.

Said goodbye to our friends and then boarded the minibus arriving at the airport at 8.50pm. Checked in at the airport only to find we didn't have seats next to each other!!?? Despite all our protests we weren't able to swap seats.

Boarded the plane and the "musical chairs" began as everyone had been shuffled so that they were not anywhere near their travelling partners! Eventually managed to swap around and get seats
next to each other. We were on our way home.
