I woke up...amazingly at an early hour.....hosed off.....seriously chased socks around room for a while....tackled em...got dressed and got some breaky in me. The town is the center of rafting country...so everyone here is on a rafting tour...so they are in packs and all packing up. I load up me bike and one of these tour buses pulls up behind my bike with the door open to my exhaust pipe....only a couple of feet away. I thought thats a wee bit rude...specially since there really is not any vehicles here....only buses and me. So I did my thing.....packed up....then started the bike...to let it warm up whilst I finished packing....come out and there is a congregation of cotton tops gathered near my bike....the door to the bus is now closed. I walk to me bike and one of the guys speaks up starts talking about how my bike was gassing em out of the bus.....I looked at him.... in disbelief....and sort of mentioned.....that I guess the bus driver shouldn't have parked there then should he. Dumbass. OOOOpppppps potty mouth.
Ignored the stares and proceeded to hop on me bike rev'd it to around 8000 for a bit....needed to warm up a bit more it was chilly out.......... and then a bit more.....and trotted it a half block to the restaurant for some breaky...kinda felt good...... going to helllllll...... I didn't look back to see if anyone was passed out in the bus......
Pulled out me map.....okay....only good to the end of Idaho.....no prob...I know they got roads in Montana....
Woowwwwwwww what a ride. All Forest roads......nothing but following rivers. Again with the cranking and banking and no one on the road......I just rode hard. I finally pulled into a gas station in Montana to see where I might end up....seemed Kalispell would be a good spot....would go farther but no hotels....this is 4th of July weekend....they are booking up. Kalispell has a few rooms open....so I book a room at the Super 8. Got me a destination.
Off I went....I pulled into a town at the end of the Forest....and went to turn down the main street...looking for a pub.....and crap the road was blocked off....cause the big 4th of July parade was happening. Well I gotta check that out...so parked the bike got off and stood there watching the parade...they started throwing freezes at me...I must of looked hot...but dang they did hit the spot...and beads and candies....the climax was the fire truck...and it turned on its sirens right about where I was .... holy crap... almost blew an ear drum.... in the blink of an eye it was over..... so off for a pub.... guy and gal on the bike in front of me pointed me to the best pub in town. It was packed. Ordered a local beer and proceeded to have me ears bent by everyone at the bar....all good. Wandered out.... hmmm candy store....got me some bear's claws... nice thing about me new helmet is I can eat and ride now....just lift the lid....lol they were good.....tried hard not to drop chocolate on me.....not successful...right on the crotch....sheesh.....
Only downside to the ride was that I eventually hit all the folks that were getting out of town to head to the lake...and of course hit construction ..... so the last bit of the ride was a wee bit slow for my taste but I rolled into Kalispell in one piece.....again a bit sore ... ohhh I was poppin Ibprofun all the way today. Seemed to help a bit. I save the Robaxacets till I get to me room unless I'm crying and riding...then all bets are off.....
So rolled into town.... wanted to go farther...but hotels were the limiter...... Unloaded and hopped back on the bike to find a saloon with food.....one was just down the road. Awesome. Had a few wobbly pops....and a steak and back to pass out. I got some good video today....
Only problem is now is that I need to get home tomorrow...so I am looking at doing the run from Kalispell to home..600 miles..yaaa early rise to play it safe....
Lights out I was out.......don't even remember blinking.......
