At the end of the day....seems a drop of rain fell onto their pretty runway....so got to see our plane de-ice....this is where they showed off some of that German efficiency. Off we lept into the sky again...bit late but didn't care cause no more connectors to Cairo.

Now to the good part....dang....they got a sweet set up in the plane. You have your own kinda pod you sit in that needs an instruction book to figure out. Got settled in and then the food and drinks started to flow....bout this time our bodies figured out something.... "Hey you guys been awake way too long...time to shut you down"....Shauna passed out soon as the chair layed flat... I took a bit longer....

Course my brain also figured out that I was sleeping on an airplane....it then prmptly told me to get the hell up cause your not supposed to be able to do that!!! Opened my eyes just in time to see the coast of Egypt slip under the wing! Woke Shauna up.....and we got the bong to get up cause we are landing. Flew the approach and I got a view of the Pyramids as we flew in....looked impressive even from that vantage. Landed a couple of minutes later ...Lufthansa was really nice and would definately fly them again.... Dave you were right.

Now the cool part.

We get off the plane huge bunch of folks heading to customs all at onced.....our guy finds us (cause he had a sign with our names on it, actually we found him. Neat concept and it works!) Muhammed, our main guy here.....parted the crowds like the freaking Red Sea when Moses had an issue to deal with. We had visas in about 10 minutes and we walked over to the luggage carousel just as our bags were passing.....grabbed both bags without breaking stride. it was official "WE HAD ARRIVED!"  We passed a few hundred people in the visa line...so cool.......

Muhammed walked us thru what to expect as our driver weaved the Mercedes in and out of traffic that well lets just say makes Vietnam look orderly, but they use cars here not scooters, more mass ergo more damage it would seem. Shauna is really impressing me, not one swear word the whole time, never does that with me driving.......did get to see her eyes bulge a bit a few times though...Words are failing me...wait for the video cause you won't believe it!

Okay so here we are.....Cairo. Very crazy cool city...20 Million people, about half of them have to drive somewhere at the same time all the time. everyday, cept on soccer days

Got to the hotel....holy crap is it nice....we got a wicked view you can see the Pyramids from our room that overlooks the Nile....Took a whole 5 minutes to enjoy the view cause the fun had begun! We had to run to catch the car to get to the Night Light and Sound show for the Pyramids of Giza.
All I can say is that it is looking like we may need a holiday after this one to rest up.....

What a great way to start.....people are super friendly our guys know where, who, what and all that....we just sit back and so far enjoy the "crazy" ride. The pyramids are lit up at night with a very educational laser show and very loud and cheesy music....was really a nice introduction to them.....

After that it was time to hit the hotel room to crash for the early rise tomorrow....cause we are going to start at Giza and need to beat the crowds....again our guide knows his stuff....
