Two Girls... One World
It seems like ages since we have written anything! Last time we wrote we were in KL, and we're now in Singapore. Inbetween we spent two nights in Melaka - a lovely colonial town with lots of culture, a fab China town and lots of churches and historic buildings... so we headed for a Waterpark! It was good fun and nice to find somewhere un-busy to relax a bit. We did some cultural stuff as well - saw a few churches and spent a lot of time (and a bit of money) in Chinatown!
So... KL was awesome - great shopping (and on a smaller scale than Singapore) and a fantastic night market where we made a few purchases before heading to a bar to celebrate my degree results.
Since we arrived in Singapore we have... excitingly... spent an afternoon in the dentist (my insurance company shall be receiving the bill!) My wisdom tooth needs to be taken out as its pushing my other teeth and causing mucho pain and an infection. I convinced the dentist that giving me drugs was a better option, so I've got three sets of horse pills to take three times a day (along with my echinachea Mummy) I think the main reason he agreed not to whip out the nasty little monster tooth was because I cried just going in and sitting in the chair, then again when he was explaining what was wrong, so he probably decided he didn't want me hysterically crying while he took out my tooth! And, the antibiotics are great because they completely knocked me out last night and I had the best night's sleep for a long while!
Last night was our last night on our tour, so we all went for a meal at a place called Chimes, which is a restaurant complex in a huge old church. The food was ok but pricey, and the portions were way too big (especially for someone with toothache). After that we went to Raffles for Singapore Slings and to eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor (apparently you HAVE to do it... it was fun and seeing as you can be fined thousands of S/dollars for littering anywhere else in Singapore it seemed a little ironic!) I have to confess I was a bit naughty as well... it said not to drink with the antibiotics so I put off taking them until I was tucked up in bed (and I only had one drink... because I HAD to... it was Raffles!)
This morning we moved from our first Hotel in Singapore to the Grand Central. It's really nice and an excellent location for shopping... which I need to do because I managed to lose my sunglasses (was always going to happen... I always lose them/ sit on them/ tread on them...) Tonight we are going out for a meal with Felix, who is a friend of Fleur's dad, and then hopefully be back for the second half of the footy!
Hope everyone is well. Photos are currently uploading but taking ages so fingers x-d! Mum and Dad - hope you had a lovely time in Greece!
