Two Girls... One World
AHHHHHHHH I just wrote an update and the computer crashed so this will b a shortened version...
Since last update we've been busy travelling from south to north islands... successfully negotiating some scary roads in our campervan, as well as the inter island ferry.
When we got to Wellington on north island the first stop was at Karen's cousin Nigel's place. We stayed with him for a few days, and visited various sights - including the Wellington cable car and botanical gardens, and a bar where the Lord of the Rings actors used to visit (although the bar was pretty high so the hobbits may have had difficulty). We also enjoyed having UKTV at Nigel's so we had the chance to watch Holby City and Midsomer Murders every night - very exciting when we've been away this long!
From Wgtn we headed Napier, a pretty little town with art deco buidings and a pretty beachfront. From there headed for Lake Taupo and then Rotorua. We visited museums, and Huka Falls (NZs answer to Niagra) and areas of geothermal activity (some were very smelly... smelt of eggs...)
From there we had a short stop in Tauronga then on to Omana Beach south of Auckland. There we stayed with Kar's cousin Andrew and family (inc very cute baby Elizabeth - piccies will be on here when we find a USB port...) Andrew's wife Kinaua took us around Auckland War memorial museum and to Mt Eden.
We are now in the city staying in a hostel and taking the opportunity to indulge in some shopping before we head to Fiji tomorrow. Will try to update from there but internet maybe limited.
Oh DAVE - finally got around to posting your birthday present today... only two months late!! Love you!
See you all soon,
Karen and Fleur
