Our fleeting visit to Hong Kong was well worth it, it's just a shame we couldn't stay longer! I think the best way to describe HK is how China would be if it became organised, clean and developed manners!
It really was a whirlwind, arriving and departing the hostel in 24 hours, but in between we managed to catch the famous star ferry across to Kowloon, the views beat those of New York, and perhaps second only to when you first glimpse the industry on Teesside coming down the A19.
We wandered down the avenue of stars, although with the exception of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan our knowledge of Cantonese movie stars is pretty dire. Le Tit raised a childish giggle though.
The markets were something different. A bird market and Goldfish Market among the most bizarre, before capping the night off watching the Harbour light show, and finally finding a cider! Which, after encountering hot weather for the first time (the legs came out and everything) was like liquid gold, if gold was made from pears, with lashings of ice!
This morning Claire finally managed to find a fitness class, and after that Hong Kong was complete after a trip up the worlds longest escalator!
It was actually quite sad to leave HK and be back in the land of 'rabble rabble rabble' but 2 nights left until Vietnam. Can not wait!
