We had a relaxing, lazy morning following a comfortable first night in the Villa. We visited a couple of our 'trusty' destinations, including Old Town & bargain hunting in the Malls.
On Tuesday we paid a visit to De Leon Spring State Park - this park included a unique dining experience in The Old Sugar Mill Building (a traditional wooden built shack dating back to 1800). A hot-plate was situated in the centre of our table, and our server delivered jugs of pancake batter for us to "cook our own". Various members of our dining party opted to disregard the cooking instructions provided (probably 'cos they couldn't hear them !?), resulting in some barely edible pancakes..... Mine were delicious !
After lunch we attempted a 4 mile trek, however as we were all attacked by swarms of ants, bugs & Mosquitos we abandoned our hike after 1/2 mile ! We did spot a red cardinal & a couple of woodpeckers, however I didn't manage any photos, as I needed both hands at all times to swat the pesky bugs!
On our return to the Mill, I took a dip in the natural spring, the water was crystal clear & refreshing (and helped to sooth my third degree insect bite wounds!).
The storms had once again arrived for our return journey to the Villa & we travelled back through the tropical rainstorms.
We paid a visit to our regular Golf Club, Kissimmee Golf Club - my round included 2 pars (a personal best), it also took me 11 holes until I lost my first golf ball........I lost my second ball into the same lake on the very next shot !
We have a unexpected trip to Tampa tonight, Michelle & the girls encountered travel difficulties & were re-routed via Tampa - looking forward to having them all join us on our vacation.
