Faced with a 14hr overnight bus journey we'd opted for Cruz Del Sur buses again. 35 quid for 14hrs and in supreme comfort ain't bad. Jen Slept I just drifted in and out. The distance isn't that bad, but due to the way Peru is spread it's the altitude and winding hills that make it so slow, not that the drivers don't try to overtake on every hairpin bend with a sheer drop of 3000m to certain death and a good spot on the BBC news. The chairs are twice the width of the plane seats and recline to almost flat. Jen sleeps whilst I listen to the new 30 Seconds To Mars album and drift in an out of sleep. BY 6am it{s light enough to appreciate the scenery so I give up on pushing sleep.
Cuzco is one of the Backpackers mecca's that all 'real' backpackers seem to go to. From here it's easy access to Lake Titicaca, Macchu Picchu and the Amazon, so naturally it's full of Gringo's and Peruvians trying to sell Massages and crap souvenirs. It's situated in a valley 3000m above sea level and as we rolled in you could see why it's so popular, absolutely breath taking views all around. Still caught in a mix of pre colonial times from the Spanish arrivals and then crossed with the arrivals of smelly backpackers fresh off a bus or flight looking to gawgle at their history and take the same pictures as the ones who came before them. LOVE IT!
We spent most the day just enjoying Cusco and relaxing. Damn nice place to be and thoroughly recommended.

We spent the day trying to be cultured and went to a couple of cathedrals and museums. Not much of it was in English which was a bit frustrating but left plenty of time for good old relaxing with a couple of beers!
