NZ day 14
TIM-BERRRRRRRR!
We woke up to a nice but cool morning in Queenstown and headed South to continue our journey through Epic new Zealand. We rode about 2 hours south to Te Anau, and were both FREEEZING!!!!!
So, We checked into our hotel and decided to get some lunch and figure out the days game plan. We wanted to ride northwest to Milford sound, which is perhaps New Zealands #1 tourist spot.
It was going to be a good 2 hour ride each way, and since it warmed up, we decided to push on. Well.... We got about half way there and were halted by a HUGE tree that had fallen down and blocked the only road to Milford sound. GRRRRR! So, we had to turn around and head back to town. We did get to watch a 30 minute movie in Te Anau, all about the Fiordlands that was shot from a local man who flew his airplane all over the Fiords and shot footage. It was truly an amazing movie and we both loved it. So atl east we got to see milford sound in some way.
We finished the day by eating the worst and most expensive buffet we had ever gone too and then finished up by seeing amazing stars in the clearest night sky over Te Anau lake. Truly breathtaking. You could see the milky way and about a gazillion stars.
