Day 1
This is a new Day 1. Starting a new leg in the journey. Right now I feel like I am at the Jersey Shore. Im sitting in my motel living room. YES living room. That's just how we roll now. You and I. This Motel room is a total Jersey shore kind of room, although You keep noticing the asian decor and commenting on how much you like all of that.
Let's back track a bit shall we...
Today...er I mean yesterday. Ok, I know it was Tuesday when we had a short flight from Albuquerque to Los Angeles. Boy that was easy. I had a whole row to myself, did you? I bet you did too, but I'm also betting you didnt have that mean woman sitting behind you giving YOU the mean looks. Some people.
The layover in LAX was'nt too bad. Hey, I asked questions, and got answers. Thing's got done dammnit! I'm definitely in charge on this trip! Is that foreshadowing I smell? So, after a slight delay, we got on board the Virgin Australia flight to, well Australia of all places. You're eyes kept bugging out at the size of this plane. I also caught you checking out the BAR that was on the plane. I'll admit I was never on a plane that had an actual bar in it. And not some lame cheeseball bar, this one was classy, and just missing a baby grand piano or staircase next to it. Where was your seat by the way? DId you get all those goodies on your seat? A pillow, a blankie, earphones, ear-plugs, and even eye shades. COOL! Oh, and did I mention. I got my own row ..AGAIN! THAT means, pillows, blankies, etc. TIMES THREE!!!
This airline is amazing. Each seat had its on tv fixed into the back of the seat in front of you. movies, TV, games, music, flight info. ALL FREE!!!! even had it's own remote control! I'm stoked! Is that a USB port I see as well? Power my Ipod? Now we're talking. This plane has CLASS. Even all the flight attendants were all good looking.
Wel, let's settle back. We have a 14 hour flight ahead of us. If you need me, just IM me on the tv screen thingie. It does THAT too! and all touch screen. COOL!
I think I managed to get 6 hours, not good hours, but 6 hours of sleep on the flight. There was lots of turbulance, but no oxygen masks dropping down or anything. Thank God! I had to text Kiwi to tell her I was a tailie! She mentioned that "at least they lived!" true true!
Am I making any sense? We have been on route now for over 24 hours, and ME doing all the work. sheesh! What good ARE you? :)
Once that flight was over, I managed to find you outside the plane waiting for me. You were trying to figure out where we go next to pick up our final flight to Auckland. Thankfully I remembered that the one flight attendant said something about something that stuck in my head..Of course it's LONG gone now.
What did you have for dinner? Breakfast too? 2 meals on one flight? awesome! My dinner was the vegan meal of all things. A pasta of sorts like lasagne loaded with cheese, need to tell Ashley to watch out on that one. For breakfast I had the scrambled eggs. I think I caught you over by the water fountain in between meals. What a cool plane! V-Australia gets my vote for best airlines ever!
Layover in Sydney. Again, not TOO bad. Everyone Ive talked to has been super nice so far. I love when THAT happens. Weird, our gate was right in between a singapore flight and a fiji flight, and WOW. Those cats travel in style. The crew I mean. All the flight attendants look like super models and dressed up in these funky weird costumes. OK..costumes is for SURE the wrong word to use, but they looked like they were primed for a new james bond movie. seriously.
Hey! WE're boarding! lets get our asses onto this last flight (for now) and...and...wow..what a dumpy plane. Bring back V-australia!!! PLEASE! Ok, I'll stop b****ing... It IS wednesday isnt it? Maybe for you it is, but for me, it's thursday. Ouch...why me brain hurt! and realy.... I had to pay $3 for a diet coke on the flight....really???? pretty lame! But at least we saw Sydney's harbour bridge and the opera house during take off. I guess that's worth a $3 diet coke.
Well, we finally landed. Customs was easy. I think they get a kick out of my passport.... Job? Musician! Name? George Smith...... yeah , rrrrrrrright buddy. But, a happy customs agent is a quick and painless agent. So I hope you get through just as easy as I did! The whole motorbiking through New Zealand sure gets them curious. Lets get out of here, get some NZ money, a cab, and to our hotel
That's where we are now...the Jersey shore smell. It's the wind I think. It's nice and warm here, but a bit windy. Tomorrow even warmer.
Have I bored you yet? Are you in the bedroom asleep? We need to find dinner. I saw 5 Chinese resteraunts all within walking distance. Let's GO!
First one....closed. Second one...Also closed. Peek up to the 3rd one and tell me what that sign says.....CLOSED. WTF? There's an Italian resteraunt , how about that? Has a sign that says "open every night!" Guess what?
CLOSED!!
sigh.... I see a burger king across the street. Are you kidding me? Well, you win some and you lose some.
I'm tired. what time IS it?
What time AM I?
Peace out people. I already miss you
