It's so refreshing to get on the train with no luggage. Just to simply hop on as a local going for a day trip - to Napoli!
My final day on this glorious adventure finishes with meeting a beautiful lady whom I met 20 years ago at the Empire Cinema in Leicester Square, London when we both met and had so much fun as Ushers, Concession b****es and Baskin Robins ice cream attendants! We have not seen each other since so hopefully we recognise each other!
...fast forward 1 hour 7 mins...after a fast train 276km an hour ride...
It was so great to meet Rosalia again, 20 years on! Her and a friend greeted me at Napoli Station and we walked 14km all around Naples: from the famous street where it's Christmas every day; they make Nativity scenes. We saw Punchenella, the famous clown of Napoli and it seemed everyone was getting married today!
We sat by the water, in front of Mt Vesuvius looming in front of us and the shimmering sea, begging to be entered as the day was really, really hot! It was a huge workout walking up and down hills.
Napoli was the birthplace of the Pizza and they swear the crust should be thick. It was, and so more filling...a simple Margarita with the freshest tomatoes and basil. It was delicious but don't tell the Napoleons that I prefer the thin crust!
Rosalia and her friend Maria-Rosalia were my private tour guides all day and would not allow me to pay for anything! They insisted. It was so lovely of them. I met a famous (and sexy) dancer from Napoli along the waterfront. Check him out in the photos!!! Sizzling! His name is Stefano Di Martino.
It was so great to catch up with Rosalia. While I was with her she called Marta, another colleague from the Empire days! We reconnected on Facebook now.
I'm officially zonked! I could not walk another step (but I'll have to, back to hotel). I'll go out for one more bowl of pasta with some Chianti, have a final sleep before the 30 hour journey back to Melbourne.
What a beautiful trip I've had! I could honestly just keep going!
