Arrived at Singapore Changi airport and my friend Vicky and new friend Sam were at the wrong terminal...! I was wandering around for about an hour feeling lost and a bit scared, I did have a little cry I admit! Luckily they found me and all was good. Bought some tiger beers and met a few friends of theres before hitting the town. Went to Park Pacific, should hav been $50 in but this guy got us on the guest list! Loads of people in fancy dress and thumping music. Really expensive drinks. We had half a lager for 9 pound!!!! Only had one drink! Lots of pics and dancing. Not bad stamina to say I'd flown in at 9pm and didn't get to bed till 4am!! Slept till 230pm though!! Luckily Vicky woke me in time for some food before the night safari. Think I could have slept right through! The scooter trip was a good laugh. Scooters like when you were kids around the busy streets of singapore - very cool!! Couple of people struggled but suprsingly I didn't fall and we got some great shots of Singapore by night. Great city. Stopped for food. I had strawberries, ice, strawberry sauce and strawberry icecream...yes i like strawberry!!! Plus its so hot so can't face hot food. I wandered off with someone elses flip flops on earler, just remembered. This guy found me in the cafe and said i had his girlfriends flip flops on...oops!!! Flights booked to Jakarta tomorrow but coming back here for a few days in a few weeks. Will take some pics soon too. Boat trip tomorrow before we fly too.
2/11/09 - Went on a boat trip today to Nazerath Island. Deserted island with white sands and gorgeous blue sea. Had a rubber ring and just floated around. The sea was so warm. Lots of sun cream needed as worried about burning. Got my first bite today too! The beach was dirty though as loads of rubbish had landed on it so that was a shame. There was a guy who was clearing it. The man who runs the hostel 'hi' was ace. He's the one who took is scooting last night and he owned the boat and took us over with the rubber rings!! He's also a happy snapper and has taken LOADS of pictures. They may turn up on facebook at some point. Was great to see a different side to Singapore, away from the skyscrapers and bustle. The people are quite friendly in general and met some cool people in the hostel from various countries in the world. On the way back the heavens opened and there was a powerful but short thunder storm. Just chilling out at the hostel now with a cup of tea and flying to Jakarta tonight...
