Well after boarding our flight and having to wait due to fog (not quite sure about that one it was clear when we got there!) we were off.
Happy to report no problems and was a pretty easy flight to KL and a little surprising but good to see the plane was about three quarters full. Although must admit the customer service really wasn't up to their usual standard. Got a whole row to ourselves of four seats which turned out much better than a bassinet seat as Amelia actually had a lot of room to move around and have a good sleep. Even better was the Indian couple in front with their bub with both girls entertaining themselves with each other when awake.
After a quick delay at the airport due to a lack of unloading bays being available we were off the plane and into . . . 30 degrees with humidity! didn't take us long to realise we were happy with that. Very nice change.
Quick stop through customs, they took a liking to Amelia, I think it's the blonde hair, and we were onto KLIA train to Rumah Putih our B&B for he night.
A call to James and he was at the train station in less than five minutes. Nothing has changed in the 2 years since we stayed here.
Great hospitality, James can't do enough for you and the place is amazing. Loved the pool and the grounds are just immaculate. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone.
A quick swim in the pool and it was off down the road to Restoran Hajas for Roti Canai, Tandoori chicken and Nasi Goreng. Must admit I think if you don't decide quickly they'd just do it for you, but based on the food we got I recon it would all be good. Amazing food and cost less than $10aus for it all including two freshly squeezed juices. Can't get better than that and as good as we remembered.
I especially love the fact the make the Roti right in front of you. It's truly amazing, like flaky bread but with an awesome curry dipping sauce to go with it and the Tandoori, well spicier than we get it in Australia but definitely the go.
The funniest street sign I have ever seen we encountered on our way back. Literally an exclamation mark. Still not exactly sure what it is you have to do when you are the one approaching it. I do think maybe it could be incorporated near where I work, or maybe it would just better describe some of the drivers abilities!
The Police station was almost as good as the sign but not quite. Now I can only comment on the outside as it was closed but it's literally a tin shed! Hope they have air-con.
And now we are relaxing, drinking tea and coffee (Malaysia is a Muslim country so alcohol, while available - at 7-11's!- really is frowned upon. Amelia is now sound asleep, I think almost comatose, but wow she is definitely a trooper, but having had a look I'm not quite sure exactly where we are going to fit though. For such a small child she sure takes up a lot of room in the bed! It's just for one night so can't be too bad . . .
Off to Langkawi in the morning. I'm sure if Amelia doesn't wake us the call to prayer will. Still getting used to that.
