We decided that we couldnt miss out on seeing Switzerland during this trip since we worked with so many people from here during our time in Canada. Plus, I had to have one of my favorite foods- fondue- from its homeland. When we first looked into it and realized how expensive it is (because of their strong economy) we figured 2 nights would be enough. We chose Zurich because it was easy&cheap to get to from Munich (about 4hrs on another discount bus company) Although it wasn't as beautiful as we pictured it to be-especially for such a rich city. (Prague was much more elegant&cultural) Don't get me wrong- it was nice...just not AS nice as we thought. The weather didnt help either-cold, rainy & gloomy. I'm sure the smaller towns surrounded by the mountains and lakes are much more beautiful- but we saw so much of that in Lake Louise. However, we did indeed enjoy the fondue (Mom- I know what you're thinking) It was definitely the best we've ever had...but pricey-about $30 each- but that's Switzerland for ya ;) We even did a fondue cruise that we were able to book last minute. Originally, we wanted to do the fondue tram but we found out that it didn't run that day- so they recommended the cruise as an alternative. At $60 it was certainly worth it- 2.5hrs gliding along Lake Zurich plus a huge pot of fondue! It actually turned out to be "cheaper" than what the tram would have cost (about $100) Still very pricey we know... but keep in mind our meals at Burger King and McDonalds were about 30bucks too! So 2 days was definitely enough ;) Now we are off to Paris for the final 6 days before heading to Aus!

Nancy I'm a little confused. Is the fondue there just potatoes & bread dipped in a pot of cheese for $30.00?
Merissa Yes! That's the traditional way to eat Fondue
