I´d forgotten what fun this travelling malarky is. 3 years was far too long to leave it! Lucky I have my Tignes job to go back to otherwise i´d probably stay longer - so much to see and do!
So, onto my 5th country on this whistle-stop tour. Took the local bus to the Brazil/Bolivia border which was amusing since they have a turnstile in the middle of the bus which you´re supposed to go through after paying. Of course with our rucksacks there was no way we were going to fit through there. Caused much laughing among our fellow passengers! Quick passport stamp at the border and we were in Bolivia! The change was pretty instant in fact with everything so much poorer than Brazil. I think its low season as there seem to be very few other travellers around.
To the train station and then the 16 hour ride to Santa Cruz. Known as the ´Death Train´, it was very ricketty. I´m sure that the tracks weren´t even, we were rolling all over the place! Now in Santa Cruz with a very comfortable looking bed and room to myself! The other girls decided that they needed to stay in a more expensive place so will see them at the bus station tomorrow afternoon for the long trip to Sucre (I wasn´t going to bother but Celia recommended it!) and then on to La Paz. xx
